Anticipation...
Well, the big day is almost upon us! The baby is scheduled to be delivered, through c-section, on Thursday, June 4th, 2009. I am excited, a little nervous, but overall really relaxed. This pregnancy has been such a blessing and I've tried to enjoy every moment of it. Now the fun begins!
Chris and the girls have painted the nursery, they did a great job! I haven't put up the wall-hangings yet, it's a cute sports theme with the tan, blue and red color scheme. We still need to get a crib & furniture, but I'm waiting a month or two to not bust the budget all at once. We purchased our stroller/carseat and also the bassinette which will be Jack's home for the next few months and some other necessities. My two sisters both had baby boys recently, so I have been the happy recipient of a plethora of newborn baby boy clothes!
In addition, my wonderful "Bunko Chicks" threw me a surprise shower at our May Bunko, so I am in good shape for a newborn. Of course I cried through the entire thing, I was so overwhelmed by the generosity and caring of my amazing friends.
Another important part of our preparation for Jack's arrival was a "Girl's Day Out" with Alexa and Sophia. The girls enjoy being pampered as much as the next woman, so it was a no-brainer that we'd enjoy spoiling ourselves with mani-pedis. Afterward we indulged in some icecream.
Sophia giggled her way through her mani/pedi because the massage chair in which she was sitting was bouncing her head back and forth. It was definitely the giggliest spa-day I can recall!
As I write, Alexa is preparing some chocolate chip cookies and Sophia is "practicing for the baby" by strolling her dolls around the family room. I think we're ready!
